Indoor air quality starts with humidity and airflow
In Boca Raton, “bad air” is often wet air: drains that clog, filters that choke returns, and systems that short-cycle before they wring moisture out. We chase those before selling a shelf of add-ons.
What we’d tell you first
Plain notes, the way a tech would say them on the phone. Then call or book if you want someone at the house.

No cool
Look outside. If the condenser is silent, check the breaker and the disconnect next to the unit. If the fan is running and the air at the vent is warm, or the breaker trips again, stop resetting it and call. That is a part, a coil, or a safety switch — not another thermostat click.

Humidity
A house can hit 74 and still feel wet. Dropping it to 68 just makes it run longer. Note which rooms feel clammy and whether it short-cycles. Airflow, runtime, and the drain come before a dehumidifier or a new system.

Clogged drain
Water in the air-handler closet, or a system that starts and then dies, is often the condensate line. Shut it off if water is on the floor. A simple clog sometimes clears from the outside pipe. If it comes back this week, the trap or the slope needs a look.
The order that actually helps
Fix the drain, the filter, and the airflow. Confirm the system can run long enough to dehumidify. Then talk filtration upgrades, better ventilation, or a dedicated dehumidifier if the house still feels clammy.
Coastal homes can also pull salt and outdoor moisture. Inland West Boca homes more often fight attic heat and closed-up rooms. The plan follows the house.
Application choices
Better filtration when the blower and return can handle it. Fresh-air options when the house is sealed tight. Whole-home dehumidifiers when the AC alone cannot keep humidity comfortable. No invented brand partnerships.
Common problems
Musty closets after rainy weeks, rooms that feel sticky at a normal setpoint, and filters that load too fast. Those point to moisture and airflow before they point to a gadget.

Usually not by itself. Sticky rooms are a moisture and airflow problem first. We will say when a purifier helps and when it is a distraction.
