No cool
Look outside. If the condenser is silent, check the breaker and the disconnect next to the unit. If the fan is running and the air at the vent is warm, or the breaker trips again, stop resetting it and call. That is a part, a coil, or a safety switch — not another thermostat click.

Humidity
A house can hit 74 and still feel wet. Dropping it to 68 just makes it run longer. Note which rooms feel clammy and whether it short-cycles. Airflow, runtime, and the drain come before a dehumidifier or a new system.

Clogged drain
Water in the air-handler closet, or a system that starts and then dies, is often the condensate line. Shut it off if water is on the floor. A simple clog sometimes clears from the outside pipe. If it comes back this week, the trap or the slope needs a look.
Mini-split repair: common problems in Boca homes
Mini-splits run long hours in this humidity, and most problems trace back to the same few things: clogged filters and blower wheels inside the wall unit, condensate that cannot drain, a refrigerant leak at a flare connection, or an outdoor unit whose electrical parts or control board failed after a storm.
Many systems show an error code or a blinking light pattern on the indoor head. Note it, or take a photo, before you call. It helps us bring the right parts the first time.

What affects mini-split repair cost
We do not publish a flat repair price, because the cost depends on what failed. Cleaning a clogged indoor coil and blower wheel and clearing the drain is a very different job from finding and fixing a refrigerant leak, and both are different from replacing a control board.
The main factors are the part that failed and whether it is still available for your brand, whether refrigerant work is involved, how many indoor heads share the outdoor unit, and how hard the equipment is to reach. We diagnose first and give you the price before the repair starts. If an older unit needs a repair that costs close to a new system, we will say so.
When a new mini-split is the cleaner answer
Stretching old ducts into a new wing often wastes money. A properly placed mini-split cools the room you actually use without forcing the whole-house system to chase one hot corner. It is also a common fix for the room over the garage in two-story West Boca homes.

Installation day
We confirm wall structure, drain path, and the outdoor pad or bracket. A dedicated circuit is added when the panel can support it, and we tell you up front if it cannot. The lines are vacuumed, the system is charged to the manufacturer's specification, and we verify the room reaches comfort without icing.
Single-zone systems serve one room. Multi-zone systems let several rooms share one outdoor unit. Not every Boca floor plan should go ductless for the whole house, and we will say when a central system should stay the backbone.
